Vernon District Public Library announces numerous upcoming happenings. Library hours are Monday 10am-7pm, Tuesday 10am-7pm, Wednesday Closed, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am-2pm, Sunday Closed.
We are currently having a used book sale in our community room until October 28th. We alson continuously accept donations of gently used books. No dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks or magazines please.
Audrey’s Attic Quilt Trunk Show will be held Thursday, October 19th at 6:30 pm. $10 Entrance Fee. PLEASE Reserve tickets by calling or stopping in the library. Audrey is a Village of Vernon resident. Audrey began making quilts in 1972 and has never slowed down or lost sight of the quilts she has yet to make. She has agreed to do this special Trunk Show for the benefit of the Vernon District Public Library as a fundraiser. It will be an entertaining afternoon with a lot of interesting quilts to see, stories to hear and a question and answer period afterward.
Free Pumpkin Painting or Decorating:
Free Pumpkin Painting or Decorating for children ages 3-12 on Saturday, October 21st. Children will be able to stop in the library from noon to 2pm to paint and or decorate a pumpkin. All supplies are provided and are first come first served till we run out.
Adults Santa’s Workshop:
The craft for October 26th is for cinnamon applesauce ornaments. Cost is $5 per person. All supplies provided. It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas gift ideas. We will be making craft items that you will be able to use as a simple little gift or that little extra something to add to a gift. Cost will be from $5 - $10 depending on the craft and will be posted as soon as possible. Tentative dates are the following Thursday’s, 28, October 26, November 16, and December 14 at 6:30.
