RURAL BROADBAND ACCESS GETS SUPPORT
Congressman Moolenaar Comments On President Trump Speech
On Monday, President Donald Trump spoke to the American Farm Bureau convention in Nashville. According to the White House it is the first time a sitting president has addressed the organization since 1992.
The president’s speech highlighted the work his administration has done for rural communities and afterward he signed two executive orders to increase broadband Internet service to rural communities.
Congressman John Moolenaar has voted for legislation funding rural infrastructure and he made the following statement on the president’s speech:
“Increasing broadband Internet access is crucial to helping residents of Michigan’s rural communities take advantage of today’s economic opportunities. I have heard from residents about how important this issue is to them and I support the president’s decision to sign two executive orders that will help increase rural Internet access. I will be working with my colleagues in Congress to help fund rural broadband in the year ahead.”
