Shiawassee Council on Aging: Morrice Senior Center is hosting the following activities and events for the month of December.
Wednesday December 6 there will be an art class featuring painting a chickadee & cardinal watercolor note card from 12:30-2:00. There is a $3 fee for those 60 and older and a $5 fee for those under 60. Reservations are required.
Friday December 8 Michigan Hearing will offer hearing checks from 10:00 to 12:00. Their services are free and bases on a first come first served basis.
Monday December 11 from 3-4 is Tech Support with the help of the Morrice Honor Society. Wednesday December 13 we will celebrate Christmas at 12:30. There will be a gift exchange ($5 limit), a special prize bingo and treats. Early reservations are required.
Friday December 15 a Podiatrist will visit. Appointments are required for this service.
Saturday December 16 the site committee will hold a bake sale at Carl’s Market in Perry starting at 11.
Monday December 18 the Morrice Site Committee will hold its monthly meeting at 11:00. Everyone is welcome to attend. Also on Monday December 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 free blood pressure checks will be offered by Rite @ Home.
WII Bowling is now offered at the center on Wednesdays at 10:30. Come have some fun and test your skill.
The center hosts bingo every Monday following lunch. The euchre group continues to meet Monday & Thursday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. and Pedro is played on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. Exercise class is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30. In addition, the center will host an Alzheimer’s Support Group on December 11 at noon.
Lunch is served three days a week, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday at noon; if you are interested in coming please call the center at 517-625-4270 or come in the day prior to make your reservation for the next day. Please note that the center has adopted new hours: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. & Tuesday, Thursday 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
