A football game between the Durand Railroaders and Goodrich Martians set for September 8th at Roundhouse Stadium will do more than provide exciting sports entertainment for fans.  Operation Freedom II is a fundraiser for local veterans, and the Friday night affair comes complete with a carnival for kids, fireworks and other patiotic happenings.  Durand's football program hosted its first Operation Freedom game last year, raising around $6,000 for the Durand Area Veterans Relief Fund.

In addition to the game, there will also be a 5K Run/Walk held the following morning.

Two weeks prior to the Operation Freedom game, on Saturday August 26th at 7pm, Dutch Hollow Golf Club will be the site for the Operation Freedom jersey auction; considered the kickoff to the entire event.

You are invited to participate in the jersey auction.  It's your chance to own a commemorative jersey that will feature the name of your choice, if you are the winning bidder.  There is no cost to enter.  Bidding for the jerseys begins at $125, and only 4-5 jerseys will be available to bid on.  On game night, the jerseys will be worn by the team and later presented to winning bidders in a post-game ceremony followed by fireworks.
