Taco Dinner To Benefit Camp Trotter

VFW-Owned Michigan Children's Camp Serves Kids of Veterans from throughout the Country

Make the Durand VFW Post 2272 your dinner stop on Saturday April 14th and support Camp Trotter, a children's camp near Newaygo that is owned and operated by the Department of Michigan, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

The Durand VFW will host a Taco Dinner; a $5 plate gets you two tacos, spanish rice and refried beans.  Dinner will be served from 3 to 6pm.

The dinner includes a raffle for prizes including a kayak, tickets to the June NASCAR race at MIS, and 2 night stay at Kewadin Casino and many others.

Camp Trotter exists primarily for children of veterans, welcomes other kids too. The facility offers five weeks of camping to children seven to twelve years old from all over the United States. Summer activities include swimming, boating, hiking, biking, arts and crafts, archery, softball, volleyball and campfire activities.

Camp Trotter promotes a general knowledge of science, art, and nature while teaching patriotism, courage, self reliance and kindred virtues, the Camp Trotter website reads.  Further, Camp Trotter aims to instill morals and values by combining educational activities with fun, helping youth to build a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
