The day's forecast is a continuation of the unusually hot conditions we've been experience as part of the heat wave that's been sweeping the midwest over the past several days; hot with a high of 92 and more humid than on Tuesday. That will introduce the chance for a late day thunderstorm.
That means that everyone should be safe from the sun under an umbrella for the Firecracker parade at 11am, but should keep the umbrella handy because you may need to duck under it during the 2:30pm Watermelon Eating/Seed Spitting Contest.
The fireworks finale at dusk should be safe from adverse weather. Forecasters say the best chance for a storm is between 3 and 9pm. The sun will begin to set on Wednesday at around 9:20pm.
